I only use stock pics for my manips, and I follow the rules of the stock owner. Often the rules are very simple, just note the owner and give credit in the description. Sometimes the rules are long; I've seen rules with 10 or more clauses.

Usually I search for good stock and save it. It could last a long time until I use them. There are stock pics on my hdd I saved half a year ago and I haven't used them, but maybe I will use it in future.
I want to say, that I don't know when or even if I will use those pics. Because of that I don't study the stock rules exactly at that time I save a pic. If I use a pic I look for the rues again.

In the description of my manips I always give a link to the used stock pic and to the main page of the owner (icon). Then I write a note to the owner with a link to my manip. Sometimes I the note contain also a link to the pic from the owner.

These are thing I always do. Then there are the "extra" rules: write a comment on the used pic, ask before use, ...
